The Rose Knot Philosophy 
    The Rose Knot is a design work room in Charleston, South Carolina. The Rose Knot offers clothing alterations and custom design for both men and women. Whether it's reworking an existing garment, or utilizing a favorite vintage fabric, The Rose Knot promotes reycling.  We collect vintage fabrics, buttons, and threads from past projects and save them for future creations.  With a "do-it-yourself" mentality, The Rose Knot believes in educating others to sew by offering sewing lessons.  The Rose Knot wishes to inspire others to repair, embellish, re-deisgn their existing clothes. When it comes to clothes, we at the Rose Knot like to use it up, wear it out, make it fit, or do without. 
 

 

Company History
   
     The Rose Knot is owned and managed by Heather Koonse.  In 2005, Koonse graduated with a B.F.A. in Fashion Design/Product Development from Stephens College in Columbia, MO.  She moved to Charleston to design for Gianna Costas.  In 2006, Koonse began working for Spinster Clothing making environmently friendly apparel.  At Spinster Koonse designed women's wear, children's wear and accessories all made from re-purposed clothing and vintage fabrics.  When Spinster discontinued making clothing, Koonse decided to start her own company, The Rose Knot.  Inspired by the Spinster philosophy, Koonse continues to recycle as much as possible in all aspects of her work.
